We Want to Share Our Passion, Experience, and Community with You

Gaming, like its progenitor, storytelling, has always been a social and exceedingly human experience.

Even in electronic gaming, the stories told via pixels are crafted by humans to share with other humans. We believe removing humans from the gaming equation diminishes the hobby and ultimately harms the community and even greater society. We NEED stories and storytelling. Our goal is to keep game mastery, and gaming stories, in the hearts, hands, and minds of people, and not to surrender it to machine-generated content. Toward that end, we are committed to helping our fellow storytellers find their voices, improve their crafts, and connect with people who want to hear their tales.

What Do We Bring to the Game Table?

Adventure U’s faculty, staff, and GMs are all highly qualified and accomplished nerds in a variety of gaming and gaming-adjacent disciplines. They possess knowledge, skills, experience, and passion for everything about the hobby.

More than a century of gaming

Just between our two principles, we boast over 100 years of RPG gaming. Including all of our partner GMs, sponsors, and colleagues, we span centuries of nerd culture, representing a venerable timeless empire of nerd civilization.

Decades of GM-ing

We’ve been running games for years – everything from D&D to mainstream titles like Call of Cthulhu to the real weird indie stuff like Raccoon Sky Pirates. We’ve got the mental scars and thousand-yard-stares to prove we have experienced “player logic” in all its forms.

Published writing

We have written fiction, non-fiction, business, marketing, and game materials, and weirdos actually gave us MONEY for it!

Teaching and mentoring

We’ve helped fellow professionals with personal and professional growth, taught in academic settings, designed training programs, and acted as resources and counselors – and the folks kept coming back for guidance! We’re pretty good at it.

Engagement in the local gaming community

.We are actively involved in the hobby in the Kansas City nerd community, running and participating in events at local game stores, community centers, conventions, and libraries.

Our nerdiness extends beyond just TTRPGs. Among our interests are board games, card games, robotics clubs, 3-d printing, miniature war gaming and figure painting, terrain making, cosplay, writing, anime, history, speculative fiction, art and architecture, and video games are all favorite hobbies and interests.
